In many parts of the country, so-called energy-efficient houses are being built, whose construction is based on adequate and high-quality thermal insulation that reduces heat loss to a minimum. Among other things, this solution can reduce the amount of energy consumed and thus have a positive impact on environmental development. It is only natural that there is also a growing interest in typical home finishes that support energy-efficient construction. One of them is certainly passive doors. What can be said about them?

Passive house – what is it?

A passive house is defined as a type of construction that uses certain architectural and finishing solutions that minimize energy demand. When designing these buildings, great attention is paid to thermal insulation, while ensuring a high level of living comfort. These homes install energy-efficient additions and use modern heating solutions, such as connecting heat pumps or photovoltaic systems.

The primary function of passive houses is to maximize the use of once-produced energy. That’s why so much attention is paid to a variety of finishing touches to keep the heat inside the house. Passive exterior doors are certainly one such item.

Passive doors

This is the kind of exit door that prevents heat loss. These profiles are distinguished by their high thermal insulation coefficient, which must be: 0.8 W/(m2K). Maintaining such a ratio is possible thanks to the materials used in the production of such profiles. Passive doors are usually made of wood, steel or, alternatively, aluminum and a specific design, in which insulation plays a not insignificant role.

In addition, passive doors are also a great finishing solution for all those people who care about reducing their heating bills.

Passive doors – key features

Deciding to buy proven profiles, it is worth betting on doors that, in addition to a high thermal insulation coefficient, will also be distinguished by additional features, among other things:

double sealing,

Reinforcement with a metal plane on both sides,

sill strip, enabling warm installation,

high-quality filling.

Is it worth choosing to install passive doors?

Passive doors are a modern solution that is worth opting for even if you are not planning to build a passive house. Thanks to the innovative technology used in the construction of these profiles, you do not have to worry about heat loss. What’s more, passive doors are manufactured with attention to detail. There are quite a few colors and designs of doors available on the market, so you can easily choose the right profiles for your needs, matching your interior design.

Passive doors are profiles that are installed most often in so-called passive or energy-efficient houses. They are made of durable insulating materials to prevent heat loss from the house. Passive doors are distinguished by their high thermal insulation coefficient, which is: 0.8 W/(m2K). These profiles are eagerly installed both by those who have decided to build a passive house and by those who are building a traditional house, but are keen to reduce heat loss.

Passive construction is gaining popularity in Poland.
